Treen Turning Kits, Tools and Accessories

Treen definition:
Treen is a term used to
describe any number of small, utilitarian items made from wood. Treen
means "from a tree" and cover anything from carved kitchen
ware such as spoons and porringer, to turned boxes and bowls.
The first step is to drill a 1 1/4" hole into a blank, up to
4" in depth for a 2" or larger turning blank. This blank is
slid onto the mandrel and turned in a conventional manner.

After the body has been
turned, you simply change the arbor to turn the top and the insert.
The kits include the small & large mandrels, plus the brass ring,
hex wrench and instructions. Cork and inserts are also included in the
sets.

The kits are available with either a #1 or #2 Morse taper & will
fit and lathe with a 5/8" arbor. |

Expander kit for use with the
original 1-1/4" Treen Mandrel Set. With this expander kit you can now 1-1/2" ID boxes. The expander kit consists of two brass rings which slide over
your 1-1/4" original
mandrel.
2" Treen Mandrel Expander Kit
Treen
Mandrel Expansion Kit that allows the turning of 2" ID boxes. Kit
includes two 2"
diameter steel rings which slide over your original 1-1/4" mandrel where they are
secured with set screws, plus a 2" aluminum gauge ring to aid in matching
box and lid diameters

Treen Mandrel Converter
This precision steel Converter is designed for turners who want to
produce Treen in large quantities and would prefer to dispense with the
aluminum fittings. It attaches to the Treen Lid Mandrel and is
essentially an internal expanding collet which fits into a 1/2" hole. Both
lid and stopper can be turned on this device, then assembled with a short
piece of 1/2" dowel.

1" Hollow Lid Driver designed to be used with the
original 1-1/4" Treen Mandrel Set
This sharp-edged 1" driver for the smaller lid
mandrel is designed to turn hollow lids or stoppers - especially
those used for salt and pepper shakers. Designed to be used with the
original 1-1/2" Treen Mandrel Set, this new part makes a jamb chuck
unnecessary.
